SMIF Awards Paint to RNeighbors

Southern Minnesota Initiative Foundation  Awards Free Paint Throughout Southern Minnesota  For the 13th year, Southern Minnesota Initiative Foundation (SMIF) awarded free paint to local organizations through their annual ‘Picture It Painted’ (PIP) program.  This year approximately $13,500 worth of free paint is helping to beautify communities across the 20-county region.  PIP, a partnership between SMIF and Valspar Corporation, is designed to support collaborative community beautification and restoration projects and encourage volunteerism throughout southern Minnesota. “Picture it Painted reminds us of how much collaboration shapes and improves our communities and…

The Post-Bulletin Lends a Hand

On Thursday, April 21, the staff of the Rochester newspaper the Post-Bulletin rallied together to pick up litter as a part of the Litter Bit Better effort. Being in the business of communications, they of course had to record highlights of their litter haul and even made a short video. But they didn’t stop there. The Eastside Pioneers Neighborhood Association is one of the founding members of this collaborative effort to address Rochester’s public safety concerns. Eastside Litter Bit Better

The annual Litter Bit Better campaign is planned for the week of April 17-24. Our neighborhood association will participateagain this year by picking up litter in both East and Mayo parks from 9:30 AM-12 noon on April 17. We will meet at the East Park pavilion at 9:30 AM.
