Tuesday, November 10, 2015, the Mayor’s Council on Neighborhoods (MCN) held their tenth official meeting. Thanks to the Rochester Area Foundation for the excellent meeting space and to Mayor Brede for his support of the group. Representatives from the Sunnyside, Historic SW, Eastside, Kutzky, Washington, Folwell and Slatterly neighborhood associations were in attendance. For the ninth year, we challenged all fourth grade students in Rochester to draw a brightly colored picture that displays: Why it is important to not litter How you will make Rochester A Litter Bit Better! There were 220 entries from 15 schools across Rochester. 2016 Spring Tree Grant Application Now Available

Photo: On September 26, 2015, the RNeighborWoods team helped the Pine Summit Neighbors plant 25 trees as winners of the fall Neighborhood Tree Grant. Types included Gingko, Sugar Maple, Red Maple, Catalpa, and American Linden. Trees make good neighbors. Since its creation in 2004, RNeighborWoods has organized 5,561 volunteers to plant 6,269 trees on Rochester boulevards.
