On October 2, 2015, we’ll be celebrating Rochester neighborhoods at our annual OAKtoberfest fundraiser. We couldn’t put on this event without our incredible event sponsors and we wanted you to learn more about them. Introducing Mark St. Peter from City Auto Glass, pictured above at the downtown CAG location inside Schmitt Auto, 102 N Broadway Ave.

How long have you been in business?

We (Jay Lingle and I) started the City Auto Glass Rochester branch in May of 1991. Prior to that Jay and I worked for Twin City Auto Glass on 2nd Street SW across from Virgil’s, since 1986.

What is the location of your business? What neighborhood associations are by your business?

We have two locations in Rochester, one NW off 37th Street, one mile east of Hwy 52. We also have a downtown Rochester location, inside Schmitt Automotive on Broadway and 1st Street NE.

The Neighborhood Associations near our NW location are Cimarron and John Adams and near our downtown location is Downtown and Washington.

What have you done to give back to the community in which your business resides?

Giving back to the community in multiple ways through Time, Talent and Treasure. Most notably would be through Help Make Rochester a Litter Bit Better.

What makes your business special?

Our business is special because of our employees, they are the best.

What is something that not many people know about your business? Or do you have any random fun facts about your business?

Random facts….we have the best glass cleaner money can buy. Our business is based in my hometown of So St Paul, MN, we employ many family members and have roughly 85 employees in the company. Our company’s President’s father, has been in the glass business for over 50 years.

Why do you think neighborhoods are important to Rochester?

Neighborhood Associations and neighborhoods are vital to a community because it is the fabric of what we are made of. We yearn for cohesiveness.

What are you most excited for at OAKtoberfest?

I am most excited for (at OAKtoberfest) the recognition of the unsung heroes and for seeing Nowicki in his outfit.
