SEMYO – Southeastern Minnesota Youth Orchestra

The Southeastern Minnesota Youth Orchestra is based in Rochester and consists of 4 instrumental ensembles of youth from around the SE Minnesota elementary through high school.If you are a parent, a student or someone who appreciates a wonderful outpouring of personal expression, please join our community in the artistic and personal development of young instrumental musicians. Your participation can help SEMYO give young artists a chance to explore musical experiences they can enjoy for a lifetime.

Tickets are sold at the door and cost $12 for adults, $8 for students and seniors, and $30 for an entire family. For concert schedules and locations, please check their website which is linked above.

House of Bounce

House of Bounce offers a huge playroom full of inflated fun for all ages. Though it costs a little to get in it is a fun place to bring the whole family. Toddler time (children 6 and under) is from 9 am to noon and costs $3 a child. Children under 2 are free, and adults may bounce for $3. Open bounce is from noon until 8:30 and costs $7.50 a person.

Recreation Center

The recreation center has a bunch of amenities for the city of Rochester. Open pool and open ice times are available for the general public. Admission is $3 for youth and $4 for adults. Weekly schedules may be found on the park and rec website.

Soilders Field Pool

Soldier’s Field pool is the largest of our outdoor pools, with 2 waterslides, and an enormous kiddy pool. The pool costs $3 for youth and $4 for adults.

PipSqueaks

Pipsqueaks, Rochester’s indoor play zone, is designed for children kindergarten-age and younger to play under parental/guardian supervision. It was created by community partnership between the Rochester Park & Recreation Department and the United Way of Olmsted County Inc. and offers young children a safe, clean play space to burn off energy during the long winter months. In addition, parents and their kids can share in activities, meet with existing playgroups and make new friends. Pipsqueaks is located in the gymnasium of the United Way of Olmsted County Inc., 903 West Center Street in Rochester. Open Monday through Saturday from 9:30 am until 2 pm and costs $2 per child per day, and $6 dollars for up to 4 children per day.

Olmsted County History Center

The History Center Museum is full of fun objects from the past of Rochester. Check out the medical and tornado exhibits and visit the old time house within the grounds. Admission to the museum is $2 per child and $5 for adults.
