During the week of April 21-28, 2007, volunteers from Rochester neighborhoods, businesses, groups, and individuals will be working together to pick up the litter in our community.

Will you join in the effort?

You can help by volunteering to pick up Rochester or by sponsoring the event. The flyer for this event is attached. Please print it off and post it for all to see.

This would be a great service project for a company, department, club, service or faith group, sports team, or neighborhood. Either choose the area you’d like to clean-up or we can assign an area for you or your group, then pick a day during the week to pick it up! Register Today!

Sponsorships are also needed. The collected litter will pile up fast and will need to be disposed of at the Olmsted County Waste to Energy facility. The disposal cost is approximately $93 per ton of trash. Will you help us pay for the disposal of this litter? Your sponsorship will make our community a litter bit better for all of us. All donations are tax deductible. So you’re not only giving to improve our community, but you can use the donation as a tax write-off as well.

Check our website for area businesses and organizations who’ve already pitched in.

Check back to the website often as we’ll be posting stories, photos, and additional information about this community event.

Please contact Phil Larsen, Rochester Public Works Department, for additional information, by phone at 287-7999 ext. 3134 or by email.

All of us together can pick it up and Make Rochester a Litter Bit Better!
