2014 Fall Citizen Forester Training

Photo: On September 21, 2013, a brand new batch of Citizen Foresters graduated with knowledge of all things trees. A few of them even helped out with the Neighborhood Tree Grant Planting later that Saturday.

When: Saturday, September 20, 2014, 8 am – Noon
Where: Quarry Hill Nature Center
Community Ed Class Number: 8050.131

Price: $15.00

Become a part of the Rochester urban forester team through this course led by the City of Rochester Forestry Division and RNeighborWoods. This class is packed with tree education, climbing, and planting.

You’ll be an active participant in learning tree planting basics, care, basic arboriculture, urban forest advocacy, and hands-on activities. Discover techniques that will give you the knowledge to correctly plant trees that will grow 100 years or more, rather than the average of 20-30 years.

Upon completion of this class you will earn the greenly official title of “Citizen Forester” and will be given the task of being a tree advocate for Rochester neighborhoods. Leaf it to us, this Saturday will likely change everything you thought you knew about trees. Cosponsored by City of Rochester Forestry Department, Quarry Hill, and RNeighbors. Register with Community Education on their website.
