The city trees of Rochester now have a whole class of brand new caretakers. Congratulations to the spring Citizen Forester graduates who completed a four hour class on Saturday, April 16.

Cosponsored by City of Rochester Forestry Department, Quarry Hill, and RNeighbors this class teaches learning tree planting basics, care, basic arboriculture, urban forest advocacy, and hands-on activities. These volunteers now have the knowledge to correctly plant trees that will grow 100 years or more (rather than the average of 20-30 years) and they have the official title of “Rochester Citizen Forester.”
