2009 RLuau Plans Underway

RLUAU-2008-021
Mayor Brede and his lovely wife Judy, looked like they just got back from the islands in their matching shirts to the 2008 RLuau.

Wikiwiki (hurry up) and get your tickets today for the RNeighbors RLuau tropical night out!

Plans are full steam ahead for the 2009 RLuau. Tickets are available, posters are printed, and Big Mark Clark is talking it up on Laser 101.7.

For those of you who have lived under a coconut and haven’t heard, RLuau is an opportunity for you to wear a loud tropical shirt, enjoy great music, food, entertainment, as well as a chance for you to show off any hidden hula skills you might have. Denny Hanson will be officiating a Neighborhood Feud game and Mayors (past and present) will be showing off their hula skills. All of this will support Rochester neighborhoods.

This is RNeighbors only annual fundraiser and will take place on Friday September 25th, from 5:30 to 11 pm at the International Event Center. The event will feature Hawaiian cuisine, a silent auction from 5:30 to 8 pm, and entertainment throughout the entire night. Three Rochester bands will be present: After School Special (rock), Peter Solo and the D’Sievers (jazz), and Nodding Wild Onion (crossover blues). It is sure to be a great evening of tropical fun!

Tickets are only $15 for 1, $25 for 2, or $100 for a table of 8.

If you feel that the grass-roots organizing RNeighbors does is important to Rochester then challenge your friends, family, and co-workers to purchase tickets. Sing Don Ho’s “Tiny Bubbles” to them. Whatever it takes.

You can send smoke signals or call Claire and Rene at the RNeighbors office (529-4150) for tickets and we’ll even deliver.

Hele mei hoohiwahiwa (Come celebrate) Rochester neighborhoods, and all that’s good about them including the neighbors, trees, and colorful corners.
