Eastside Pioneers Neighborhood Association December Meeting Notice

The Eastside Pioneers Neighborhood Association Meeting will be Thursday, December 12 at 7 PM at the St Francis Catholic Church Parish Activity Center, located at 1114 3rd St SE. The Parish Activity Center is located in the St. Francis Parish Center located at 1114 3rd St SE. It is located on the parking lot side of the building. It is downstairs. I will have signs posted. Our Guest Speaker for the evening will be Kay Hocker from the Diversity Council. After our program everyone is invited to join us for our annual Christmas Party. You do not have to RSVP for our Christmas party or bring anything,  just show up and enjoy Christmas treats and conversation.

Also just an FYI, there will also be a celebration of the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe at St. Francis Catholic Church on Thursday night, December 12.. The parking lot will be full and there will likely be parking in the neighborhood as well. So parking will be a challenge. This celebration is one of the most important dates in the Mexican calender. Being an open and inclusive neighborhood this would be an event that would certainly enhance our efforts to promote cultural diversity. This is not just a celebration for those of Mexican heritage it is open to all. If anyone is interested in attending they are welcome to do so. At 6:30 PM there is a procession blessing of the children followed by a 7 PM Mass accompanied by a Mariachi band. At 8:00 PM there will be a dinner in McCarthy Hall and traditional cultural presentations, including Aztec Dancing.

If you have any questions, suggestions or concerns please contact me.
