Council on Neighborhoods Meeting – March 6, 2018

On Tuesday, March 6, 2018, the Council on Neighborhoods (CoN) held their fifteenth official meeting at the 125 Live building.

Mission
To strengthen connections between neighborhood leaders and give neighborhoods a collective voice.

Representatives from the Kutzky, Friends of Indian Heights, Historic South West, Eastside Pioneers, Homestead Trails and Homestead Addition neighborhood associations were in attendance. The topic was RNeighbors Neighborhood Project Grants.

The agenda included summaries from 2017 grant recipients, how they generated ideas, the process taken to complete the project and lessons learned. Neighborhood associations who shared their experiences included Historic SW, Street Sign Toppers; Homestead Addition, Creative Crosswalks; Kutzky Park, Fitness in the Park (park activation); Homestead Trails, Neighborhood Garden (grants from 2015 and 2016).

A review of the grant goals, guidelines and goals rounded out the meeting with time for questions and discussion. Project Grant Application deadline is Wednesday, March 14, at 5 pm.

Upcoming meeting: Tuesday, April 17, 5:30-7 pm, at 125 Live, 125 Elton Hills Drive NW.
