Mayor’s Office Seeking Applicants for Mayor’s Medal of Honor Nomine

October 28, 2019 – ROCHESTER, MINN. – Mayor Kim Norton is seeking nominations for the Mayor’s Medal of Honor. The Mayor’s Medal of Honor recognizes residents who have gone above and beyond to serve the community. There are fourteen categories including, Community-Wide Service, Champion of Diversity, Heroism, Human Service, and Excellence in Industry. Nominations will be collected online or through a paper form and are due November 13, 2019. Selected recipients will be honored at a gathering on December 12, 2019.

Mayor Kim Norton states, “The Mayor’s Medal of Honor is a longstanding opportunity to recognize the outstanding contributions of our community members. Rochester is fortunate to have residents who are strongly committed to being engaged and involved. I encourage all members of our community to consider submitting a nomination for someone you know who deserves this recognition.”

2019 will be the 36th year of the Mayor’s Medal of Honor. New this year, there will be one new category added, that being Sustainability. The Sustainability medal will recognize an individual who has or is advancing sustainable efforts.

To submit a nomination, a nominator must complete a very brief form, which includes providing up to 300 words on why the individual deserves the award.
