Volunteers Needed for National Junior Disability Championships

The National Junior Disability Championships will be here before we know it –July 6-13.  WE NEED TO FILL 170 VOLUNTEERS SHIFTS YET!!!  –and we hope you can help us out during this great event.  You can sign up to volunteer on-line at:  http://www.njdc2013.com/volunteer.html

 

**** No specific knowledge is required to work these events (swimming, archery, track & field) – there will be officials there to train you for what you will be doing ****

 

Here is some more information on this Championship:
This event is for athletes between the ages of 7-21 who have met the appropriate Disabled Sports Organization (DSO) qualifying standards at a sanctioned regional qualifying meet or an approved qualifying competition.  Disabilities include but are not limited to: spinal cord injury, muscular dystrophy and congenital anomalies.  This event bring over 300 athletes to town to compete in such sports as:  swimming, archery, field, track & field, table tennis and weightlifting.  Here is some video clips from the 2012 games in Mesa, AZ – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SnoB6d1XmdU
