Lumber Jack & Jill Forest Fest 2019

On Sunday, March 10, 2019, noon – 3 pm, celebrate the neighborhoods and urban forests of Rochester while supporting RNeighbors at Lumber Jack & Jill Forest Fest 2019. Venture out to Kinney Creek Brewery (1016 7th Street NW Rochester) for an afternoon filled with flannel, beards, and logging fun. 2019 Spring Neighborhood Tree Grant Now Available

Photo: On September 22, 2018, the RNeighborWoods team helped the Historic SW Neighbors plant 25 trees as winners of the fall Neighborhood Tree Grant. Trees make good neighbors. Since its creation in 2004, RNeighborWoods has organized 6,441 volunteers to plant 7,230 trees on Rochester boulevards. These trees provide multiple ecological and other public benefits including reducing Rochester’s carbon footprint. Rochester’s urban forest includes 41,177 public trees on neighborhood boulevards and parks. In one year 33,100 lbs of pollutants were removed from the air…

2019 RNeighbors Neighborhood Project Grants

RNeighbors Neighborhood Project Grants reimburse up to $1,000 in costs for neighborhoods to complete projects that: Enhance a neighborhood’s livability and involvement Benefit the entire neighborhood Promote a strong sense of community. Be creative. These non-revenue producing projects can include, but are not limited to, identification signage, bike racks, mini libraries or food pantries, pocket park improvements, physical activity opportunities, butterfly & rain gardens, native plantscaping and public art projects.
