A Litter Bit Better! 2019 Final Results

2019 was the 13th annual Help Make Rochester A Litter Bit Better! event. Each year, thousands of volunteers collect litter from across Rochester. Together in the past 13 years, these individuals, service groups, businesses, scout troops, faith-based organizations, neighborhood associations, and families have worked together to remove over 150 tons of litter from the community. Announcing the fifth year of our Neighborhood Project Grants. We received a great batch of creative, practical, and community-building grant applications this year. Projects that not only bring neighbors together, but also accomplish positive things for their living space. Spring 2019 Community Tree Planting

The city’s boulevard tree spaces are currently over half empty and each year up to 600 boulevard trees are removed due to disease or damage. We need your help to add more community trees to the SE Eastwood Hills neighborhood. 2019 Spring Neighborhood Tree Grant Now Available

Photo: On September 22, 2018, the RNeighborWoods team helped the Historic SW Neighbors plant 25 trees as winners of the fall Neighborhood Tree Grant. Trees make good neighbors. Since its creation in 2004, RNeighborWoods has organized 6,441 volunteers to plant 7,230 trees on Rochester boulevards. These trees provide multiple ecological and other public benefits including reducing Rochester’s carbon footprint. Rochester’s urban forest includes 41,177 public trees on neighborhood boulevards and parks. In one year 33,100 lbs of pollutants were removed from the air…
