Neighbors for Safety is growing into the City recognized Citizen Advisors for Public Safety Committee.  This is a grassroots effort to develop strategies to address Rochester neighborhood livability concerns.

Community organizers and neighborhood members from each city ward will make up this 12 member group.

Citizen Advisors for Public Safety will serve as a communication link between residents and local government to improve public safety.

The Citizen Advisors for Public Safety Committee will address the following:

  • Define what constitutes a safe city by utilizing the priorities of our residents.
  • Ensure safe environments for residents, employees, and visitors of all ages, ethnic backgrounds, sexual orientations, disabilities, and religions.
  • Provide an active voice for residents in regard to increasing safety for all.
  • Strengthen and assist local government in creating effective and rapid responses to crime in our community.
  • Assist in furthering the reputation of Rochester as a safe city to live, work and recreate in.

Applicants are currently being accepted for the Citizen Advisors for Public Safety Committee. The deadline for all applications is May 24, at 5 pm.

Applications will be reviewed by the Neighbors for Safety Committee and notified of acceptance by June 1.
