Resources and Tools
Each of the RNeighbors’ programs is a community partnership that works toward the vital impact of getting neighbors out of their houses to interact and develop relationships. There are currently 29 registered NAs in Rochester. In addition, resources are available for non-registered neighborhood groups such as the Meadow Park Initiative.
History
In 1996, Rochester Mayor Chuck Canfield formed a Mayor's Advisory Council on Neighborhoods to determine best practices for helping neighborhoods to organize and provide them with resources. Originally housed within the Police Department, The Rochester Neighborhood Resource Center was incorporated as a 501C3 in 2001 to promote community and improve the quality of life in Rochester neighborhoods.

Our Mission
The mission of RNeighbors is to empower citizen leaders to create sustainable neighborhood networks that promote a vibrant, healthy, and livable community.
Our Strategic Priorities
-
Establish and maintain neighbor connections that nurture a sense of community for residents
-
Advocate for neighborhood health, wellness, and safety

Bolster RNeighbors infrastructure to be poised for growth
-
Capture and celebrate the diversity and uniqueness of neighborhoods
Our Team
RNeighbors is a small nonprofit with a staff of an Executive Director, a half-time office manager, and, at times, an intern. As well as a volunteer Board that ensures the organization's strategic direction aligns with the mission. The organization serves as an umbrella organization for the neighborhood associations in Rochester and accomplishes its mission by providing resources for neighborhoods to organize around. Due to the limited staff time and funding, each resource RNeighbors provides must be valuable.
