Volunteer Community Bias/Hate Incident Responder

The Diversity Council with Victim Services & Restorative Justice, a department of DFO Community Corrections, are recruiting and training community members to serve in the role of Volunteer Community Bias/Hate Incident Responder.

General Purpose:  The volunteer community responder’s major responsibilities are to enact all duties as described in the Bias/Hate Crime Response Plan and to follow all policies and procedures as outlined in the volunteer community hate crime responder protocol manual. The Responder will provide support to victims as well as a connection to additional resources. The application can be found at this link.

Applications are due by February 7th, 2012. You may return them by mail to the address on the application, or by email to kayh@diversitycouncil.org Interviews will be conducted between February 7th – 10th, 2012.

Training is on February 28th and 29th from 5:00 pm – 9:30 pm, March 3rd from 9:00 am – 1:30 pm, and March 6th and 7th from 5:00 pm – 9:30pm. There will be no alternative or make-up training sessions scheduled. Attendance at all training sessions is mandatory.
