In September 2009, at the RNeighbors annual fundraiser RLuau, a conversation about public safety concerns took place. Following this, Neighbors for Safety was brought together, made up of leaders from the Cimarron, Historic Southwest, Kutzky Park, Eastside, and Slatterly Park neighborhood associations, business leader Joe Powers, and RNeighbors served as the organizing entity. After days of rain, RNeighbors and volunteers from the Historic Southwest neighborhood could not have been happier to see the sun shining on the morning of June 16.  With all of our ducks (and paintbrushes) in a row and weather finally permitting, the re-painting of the Historical Southwest Funky Flower mural at 7th Street SW and 7th Avenue SW was a colorful success. Did you know that currently there are 28,434 vacant boulevard tree spaces throughout Rochester neighborhoods, out of a total of 56,550 spaces? Lions Avenues of Flags

  The Rochester Host Lions Club is now offering individuals in selected neighborhoods in the City of Rochester an opportunity to show their pride and patriotism by displaying the American Flag in front of their homes on five national holidays per year: Memorial Day, Flag Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, and Veteran’s Day.
